You might have heard about the cereal killerz; if not, keep reading to learn who they are because if you are a cereal fan, not knowing about them could be a crime!

What is Cereal Killerz?

Cereal Killerz is a restaurant in South Nevada serving everything cereal, from breakfast to treats, snacks, candies, waffles, cookies, pop tarts, and much more. The restaurant even uses cereals to personalize iced coffees, milkshakes, and ice creams.

Founded by husband-and-wife duo Christopher and Jessica Burns in 2018, who were always passionate about starting a business and wanted to incorporate their favorite food – cereal.

The restaurant contains both dairy and non-dairy options and became an immediate success in its first restaurant location in Las Vegas. Jessica and Chris’ mission was to create happiness ‘one bowl at a time and continued expanding throughout the pandemic.

They made the decision to ask a shark for financing in order to reach a wider audience and distribute the bowl of happiness in more places. Let’s see how that went.

Cereal Killerz on the Shark Tank

Jessica and Chris appeared on season 12 of Shark Tank, wearing Halloween hockey goalie masks, seeking a $125000 investment for a 10% equity in their business. The main theme of their restaurant is ‘where every day is a Saturday,’ and reminds people of those lazy Saturday brunches where you would sit and watch cartoons at home with a bowl of cereal and various toppings on it.

All the sharks sitting at the table receive 3 of the company’s signature shakes which are thoroughly enjoyed by all of them. Once the questioning starts, the sharks enquire as to why they need a shark’s investment.

Chris tells them that they are looking to open in a new location and that their existing location in a mall is too costly, and they face $8000 of expenses on rent alone, which they can easily get rid of if they relocate and expand elsewhere.

The sharks ask them what their plans are for the new location, and they tell them they intend to invest over $40k-$50k for expansion. The sharks still don’t seem interested enough to make a $125000 investment.

Kevin is the first to back off asserting that the company has no privileged information. Lori also backs out, revealing that she already has investments in a similar kind of business and won’t be investing. Robert also refuses an investment, sighting the difference between opening a retail store and developing a brand. He believes Cereal Killerz is merely just a retail store and hence opts out. Mark also opts out, suggesting that what the duo needed was an accountant or lawyer, not an investor. Daymond is the last shark left in the tank, and although he loves the concept, he opts out.

Chris and Jessica leave the tank without an investment.

Our Review of Cereal Killerz

Cereal Killerz is every child’s dream and a delicious nostalgic experience for all the grown-ups. What makes the brand even more interesting is that Jessica and Chris have a daughter who has Down Syndrome, and the several variations of cereal started off as a way to make her favorite breakfast cereal, which is cinnamon toasties. Chris would make it different every time so that his daughter would not get bored of eating the same thing every day.

Cons of Cereal Killerz

While you can order a personalized cereal box from their website and get it delivered anywhere within the US, you can’t experience their in-house awesomeness; their shakes and waffles, and their limited-edition delicacy called ‘LeTaco James,’ which features the favorite breakfast cereal of the NBA star LeBron James, Fruity Pebbles.

We couldn’t think of any other drawbacks of the Cereal Killerz; however, if you have anything to share, feel free to leave it in the comments down below.

Who is Cereal Killerz for?

Cereal Killerz is for anybody who loves their morning cereal and can enjoy it in several variations. Both adults and children can indulge in their own personalized cereal creations and also order themselves a custom package.

Are There Any Alternatives?

Kellogg’s is the biggest cereal company in the world, with several flavors under its belt and many devoted customers.

While Cereal Killerz might be in the cereal business, it has an entirely different concept and doesn’t manufacture its own cereal but rather uses cereals of several brands from different countries.

Kellogg’s, on the other hand, is a cereal manufacturer, but one can easily use it to create their own variations at home.

Our Final Thoughts

Even though Cereal Killerz walked out of the tank without investment, it is doing pretty well and expanding continuously.

Their appearance in the show also helped them gain popularity, and as of now, their company is profiting and expanding with two more locations in Las Vegas. Additionally, they are also looking for franchises to take their business to more states around the US. Cereal Killerz makes over a million dollars in profit per year.
