Brewer’s Cow Ice Cream is a great option for all ice cream and beer lovers. It’s  ice cream infused with beer that comes in various flavors. The product was created in a way that it would remind you of beer, without having the ice cream lose its original flavour and feel. The result was an amazing culinary experience for the consumer.

The founders of Brewer’s Cow Ice Cream are Steve Albert, Larry Blackwell, and Jason Conroy. The trio came up with this because they wanted to create something that would get people’s attention. Albert had been creating ice cream for 10 years when he finally hit the jackpot with this idea. He came up with a way to keep the flavor of the beer while removing the alcohol.

After he was successful, he moved on to adding other components to his ice creams such as nuts, caramel, and fudge with good quality cream. Steve then paired up with his friends, Larry and Jason, and they started Brewer’s Cow Ice Cream.

Before coming to Shark Tank, they were into local distribution and had received an offer from the grocery giant, Whole Foods.

The bestselling point of Brewer’s Cow isn’t just that it’s beer-flavored ice cream, but that it gives you the flavor of beer without the intoxication. It tastes delicious and is a much healthier alternative to beer.

Are They Still an Active Company?

No, they are not active and went out of business soon after their appearance on Shark Tank.

How Did the Shark Tank Pitch Go?

Steve, Larry, and Jason’s initial ask from the Sharks was $125,000 for 15% equity. The three needed the money to increase the size of their firm.

Their pitch began with Steve introducing their product. Then Conroy added on by explaining their goal of expanding with the investment they would get from a Shark. The Sharks were then surprised to see a German woman dressed as a barmaid, enter and hand out ice cream samples..

They were amazed by the ice cream’s taste, not expecting the beer-flavored dessert to taste so good.

Daymond left first by announcing that he is lactose-intolerant. Barbara left after she saw that they were unable to give the same answer when asked about the numbers. Robert followed soon after. Mark gave them the advice to try their luck with the major beer manufacturers and then stated that he’s out too.

Kevin is the last to announce that he’s out and tells them that he believes they are “ice cream bozos”, and their idea has no future.

Overall, the pitch didn’t go that well and the three entrepreneurs left without a deal

Our Review of Brewer’s Cow Ice Cream

We decided to try the ice cream ourselves and see how it tasted. It’s an amazing cold treat for a hot day or to enjoy during your vacations. It is available in a wide variety of flavors

The good news is that the ice cream tasted exactly like beer. We saw no major change in the taste; it was just a thicker and creamier version of our favorite drink. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to avoid alcohol. Plus, it acts as a great substitute for people who are addicted to beer. Brewer’s Cow is different from other ice creams because it gives energy too but doesn’t make you intoxicated.

The bad news is that it’s expensive and not a lot of companies have picked up on the idea yet so there are limited options. A few companies still have reservations about adding beer flavor to their ice creams. Plus, it tastes like beer but cannot contain alcohol as that will cause the freezing point to drop further. If the alcohol level is increased then our ice creams will be melting rapidly as we eat it.

Pros of Brewer’s Cow Ice Cream:

  • Two favorite items as one
  • Contains less alcohol so you don’t have to worry about getting intoxicated
  • Can be used in desserts
  • Available in lots of flavors

Cons of Brewer’s Cow Ice Cream:

  • Isn’t going to intoxicate you like beer
  • Is expensive

Who Is Brewer’s Cow Ice Cream for?

Brewer’s Cow Ice Cream is perfect for people who drink beer regularly but want a healthier option that’s still similar to beer. It’s also a good option for people who are interested in trying out beer but don’t want to get addicted to alcohol and want to enjoy a cold treat too.

Are There Any Alternatives?

Although Brewer’s Cow was kind of unique at the time it was invented, the idea was picked up on by other ice cream companies. Beer-flavored ice cream still isn’t that common, but you can find it in limited places.

Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream is one good alternative for Brewer’s Cow. Just like Brewer’s Cow, it contains just the flavor of alcohol. They have a bourbon ice cream flavor with cornflakes as well as many others. They offer many interesting flavor combinations such as Vietnamese Coffee and Honey Graham.

Ben and Jerry’s Salted Caramel Brownie Brown Ale is another alternative to Brewer’s Cow Ice Cream. This contains beer-flavored ice cream with roasted malts, as well as chocolate and vanilla flavors.

Our Final Thoughts

While some people may have concerns about the idea of beer in ice cream, it’s a great way for someone to enjoy a delicious treat without worrying about intoxication. This ice cream is available in many flavors and is a good option for vacations.

Although there’s no guarantee that beer lovers might be a huge fan of it, the flavor of beer is good enough to enjoy on its own.
