Katherine Saltzberg and Lauri Fraser, daughters of Hugo Maisnik, presented Hugo’s Amazing Tape in Shark Tank season 9 episode 23, which aired in February 2018. Katherine and Lauri were looking for $50,000 in exchange for 50% of the company, which at the time was valued at $100,000. The sisters gave the sharks a demonstration of the tape’s strength, using it to tape and hold up various different items. After their demonstration, the sisters distributed samples to the sharks.
Mark was under the impression that since the tape originated from Taiwan, they were getting knocked off, and he wasn’t sure if he should trust the product. According to Kevin, the product was not something he wanted to invest in. Robert was also not interested in investing, and Barbara advised the women to sell the business. Eventually, Mark and Lori offered to buy the whole company for the original value of $100,000. After some deliberation, Katherine and Lauri accepted the offer.
Following the appearance on Shark Tank, Hugo’s Amazing Tape became available on Amazon and Walmart. Since July 2022, the company has made over three million dollars in sales.

It is very convenient to use, especially since you can replace about four to five different tapes with just this one tape. The double-sided, self-adhesive, and reusable nature of the tape makes it safe to use for most materials, including cloth and fabrics. There is no need to worry about glue stains or sticky leftover residue when the tape is removed, either. Not to mention, the different sizes mean you can use this tape for almost anything around the house!
The only negative that we can really think of when it comes to Hugo’s Amazing Tape is the relatively steep price. However, does that steep price eventually negate itself, considering that the tape is reusable and will last you a pretty long time? We think maybe it does.
