Muff Waders from Shark Tank

Muff Waders shark tank

Men love their beer. There’s no lie in that. But if you’re a man who works outdoors but hates it when your beer gets cold, then Muff Waders is a solid brand for you. It lets you do your thing while keeping your beer or other beverages cold.

Muff Waders are basically an overall for men, but it is not just some regular overall. They come with an insulated cooler fitted in their front pocket; how cool is that? You can carry not one but rather six beer cans, water, or any other drink.

That’s not all. The sides of the overalls also have insulated pockets for additional storage. There’s a hidden pocket inside the top if you also have some important stuff to carry, like keys or a wallet. Wait, there’s more; your Muff Waders also has a bottle opener attached to them and a muff mug, so you don’t have to constantly be holding your beer.

There is no such variety in the designs, as you can only purchase them in two colors, black and brown, and they come in limited sizes, from medium and large to X-Large. But besides the overalls, they also sell their Muff suspenders, designed to hold your beverages and keep them cold. You can also purchase their snapback hats, muff clips, T-shirts, and patches.

This brilliant overall for men was invented by Taylor Nees, aka Earl. Earl worked hard, but he also wanted an overall that would help him bring his beers along with him. Earl was then joined by his friend, Garret, to give a jumpstart to his company. They believe in working hard and playing hard, and these overall are for the men with the same mentality.

Before appearing on Shark Tank, Muff Waders, the business was started in 2018, but they had a failed Kickstarter campaign, which did not stop Earl and Garret from starting the business. They had $54,000 worth of sales when they appeared on the show.

Are They An Active Company?

As of 2022, Muff Waders is still an active company that sells its products primarily from its official website and online retailer, Amazon.

How Did Their Shark Tank Pitch Go?

The two childhood friends entered Shark Tank, where they sought a $25,000 investment in exchange for 25% of their company.

The two friends started their pitch rather interestingly. Earl demonstrated breaking a piece of wood and quickly retrieved a beer can from his overalls and handed it to Garret. Garret explained how they liked to work but also party hard, so to keep their drinks cold, they created Muff Waders. Earl then unzipped the cooler in his overalls to reveal the drinks inside. They continued to demonstrate the features of the overalls.

The Sharks were noticeably impressed by the design and its coolness; they thoroughly enjoyed their pitch and energy. The room was filled with the Sharks’ boisterous laughter.

The first shark that went out was Mr. Wonderful, who totally loved what the men were doing, and he loved them and the fact that they were in Shark Tank drinking beer, but unfortunately, Muff Waders was not the company for him to invest in. Mark Cuban also loved the product. He would even wear these overalls, but the clothing business was just not his forte, and he could not help them, so he went out. Robert Herjavec also went out, and his statement, “I will not be wearing it”, reflected his lack of interest and liking for the product, and for that reason, he went out.

Lori suggested that the men do some Instagram ads, but the entrepreneurs said they were trying to cut back on that cost. But this was not the deal that Lori wanted to invest in, even though she loved the product and believed they would make it out there.

This left behind Daymond, who Mr Wonderful called the “Fashion guru”, and while it did appear that he would invest, Daymond went out because even though he’s in the clothing business because there are so many sectors within that business, and he probably would give bad advice and that the men would be okay on their own.

So Earl and Garret, unfortunately, left the Shark Tank disappointed with no deals. However, this did not stop them from taking Muff Waders ahead. And they did experience the Shark Tank effect because their sales after the episode boosted dramatically.

Our Review of Muff Waders

We believe that Muff Waders is an intelligent but also comical brand. Even though the Sharks did not invest, they did express their love for it. So clearly, Earl and Garret have made something rather unique and fun. If you’re a man who hates cold beer, then with a Muff Waders overall, you don’t have to worry about that.

Unfortunately, Muff Waders has not done well online. Even though it sells on Amazon as well, they have failed to gain proper engagement from the customers.

Our Final Thoughts

Earl and Garret created a great and unique design, which is excellent and practical. And even though the Sharks loved the product, they could not strike a deal with them, and by the looks of it, the brand is not doing exceptionally significant in the market. We believe partly that is because it is a small business and the clothing market anyway is tough.

We think they could grow remarkably if they start exploring their designs, prices and marketing strategy more.
