Guzzle Buddy is a multipurpose wine glass, cup, decanter and stopper that you can use to drink from any bottle. All you have to do is attach the glass on top of the bottle.

It’s designed to fit most wine bottles. The best part is that you won’t make a mess since it prevents spillage. Moreover, it makes for a great gift.

If that wasn’t enough, the product is BPA and Odor Free and made of pretty strong durable plastic.

It was invented by Jo Sullivan and Randy Rothfus because they decided to invent a fun wine glass that could be used to drink directly from the bottle. They came up with the idea after watching Cougar Town. They decided to get copyrights for the name even though it was already owned by a different company.

The product is designed like a wine glass but has a stopper system that attaches to the top of a wine glass. They now offer a line of premium and customized products. You can get this product off Amazon for $24.99.

They came to Shark Tank hoping to get help with marketing their product.

Are They Still an Active Company?

Yes, the company is active and still in business.

How Did the Shark Tank Pitch Go?

The two entrepreneurs came to Shark Tank seeking an investment of $400,000 for a 10% stake in their company. They started the pitch by showing how the product worked and handed out samples to all the Sharks. Then it was time for them to share their sales.

They shared that they’d managed to make almost $1.4 million in just 10 months. Mainly through social media popularity. They’d managed to make $320,000 from that way of marketing alone. These numbers looked good to the Sharks especially since the company made each product for only $3.12 and sold them at $24.99.

Mark was the first Shark to step out. After that Daymond stepped out too because he wasn’t sure. Lori didn’t think they could keep up the sales with their current marketing mode. Robert didn’t think the valuation was good enough. Kevin felt the same way. Lori was the last one left and she asked them to change their valuation.

They countered their original offer with $400,000 for a 20% stake in the company. Daymond entered the conversation then, claiming that he’d be interested if they were willing to do that number for a 25% stake instead. Lori offered this amount with a line of credit.

In the end, they decided to go with Daymond’s offer. Overall, the Guzzle Buddy Shark Tank review was positive and they left with a good deal. After coming on Shark Tank, they managed to make some decent sales even though the deal didn’t close. They currently make $1-2 million in annual revenue.

Our Review of Guzzle Buddy

We used the Guzzle Buddy to see how it worked in the real world.

Good news: it doesn’t leak and is easy to use. The silicone piece fits easily into the wine bottle’s mouth. Since there are no leaks, there is no fluid dripping around this important point of contact. It’s designed to suit most types of wine bottles and beer bottles. It’s super easy to use, and environmentally friendly because it’s BPA and odor-free and it’s made of pretty sturdy plastic.

Unfortunately, the flow moves slowly. This is probably the biggest problem that customers have. If you want to drink and have a good time, you might want something faster. Still, the slow fluid does have one big advantage. Seeing as you will have additional time to savor your drink, you are much more likely to be full and not want to get another bottle. Also the bottle’s actually quite expensive.

But there’s no reason to attach a wine glass on top of the bottle when you can simply pour one out. Plus, the product’s actually quite expensive as compared to regular wine glasses.

Pros of Guzzle Buddy

  • Sturdy material
  • Easy to use
  • BPA-free and odor-free
  • No leaks
  • Good gift

Cons of Guzzle Buddy

  • Expensive
  • Not really necessary.

Who Is Guzzle Buddy for?

This product is mainly aimed at wine enthusiasts and drinkers who want a convenient way of drinking from the bottle.

Are There Any Alternatives?

This is a unique product so there aren’t exactly alternatives on the market.

But there are other wine glasses that can be gifted. Wittsy Glassware’s Best Wife Ever Wine Glass is one great gifting alternative. You can customize the gift box and bubble wrap for this product. And it’s a pretty high quality wine glass that makes for a great anniversary gift. You can also just give it on other holidays too.

The company also offers differently named glasses for different members of the family

Our Final Thoughts

Guzzle Buddy is a great product for wine enthusiasts who want to drink directly from the bottle. It’s a pretty well designed glass that can be attached to any wine bottle and makes for great dinner table conversation. On top of that, it’s pretty simple to use.

However, since it’s pretty expensive. A lot of people might prefer to use regular wine glasses instead of one that attaches to the rim.
