When it comes to a house’s indoor security systems, fire extinguisher and sprinkler systems are among the most critical aspects. But if there is no fire and the sprinkler system is triggered just by smoke, it can cause water damage and an electrical short circuit in the house.
Keeping in mind the problems mentioned above related to the sprinkler system, entrepreneur and firefighter Matt Scarpuzzi presented his self-made product on Shark Tank with high hopes of gaining representation and investment from the Shark Tank judges.
When giving his introduction, Matt talked about getting calls of fire outage almost every day, and when the fire fighting team reached the destination, they found out that it was only smoke that triggered the fire alarm and triggered the sprinkler system.
He said that almost every house has a sprinkler system installed, which is good in case a fire breaks out. Still, if there is no fire, the sprinkler system can cause problems such as water overflow, furniture and other electrical equipment damage, and security systems that are also damaged due to water spraying everywhere.
To combat such problems, Matt found the easiest solution to control the water sprinkler mechanism in every house. He created tools that he named Quickstop Fire Sprinkler Tools. When attached and connected with the sprinkler system, these tools can act as a tap or a switch that can be moved by hand to control the water spray flow.
For firefighters, the tool is a type of a wrench connected to the central water system and can stop the sprinkler system from throwing extra water. The devices are available on the Quickstop website and are delivered to your doorstep for free.
Matt Scarpuzzi came to Shark Tank with his product to seek an investment of 150,000 dollars in response to 10% shares of his company. He was looking for investment to expand his inventory and sales distribution market.
He explained that so far, his product reach and selling are stable as he can generate profits at a steady margin but not enough to take his product to a global level.
After the presentation, the judges looked quite impressed by his product but at the same time questioned the credibility and wanted to get a clear idea about where Matt envisions his creation after 10 years and what would be the market advantage and competition at that time.
One of the judges, Lori, presented her investment deal offering 75,000 dollars in response to 18% equity. But at the same time, she wanted another shark to collaborate with her and join in this investment. Mr. Wonderful, another one of the Shark Tank judges, offered extra 75,000 dollars but demanded 50% equity, splitting the shares in half with Lori. Mark showed hesitance which Lori noticed, and tried to counter the deal by dropping the equity demand to 40%.
Matt thought the deal was outrageous, and he couldn’t possibly give so many shares of his company. Hence, he turned down the offer and left the Shark Tank platform without making any deal.
After presenting his product on Shark Tank, Matt didn’t lose hope and gained more willpower and motivation to succeed. He eventually expanded his business and started selling his product internationally, gaining many global marketers.

They provide high versatility to their users, and they are multi-purpose. They can be used in any situation and are suitable for every building and house.
The head of the tool is detachable, and leaders of various sizes are given in the package so that they can change the crown according to the extent of the sprinkler system. The only setback is that they are challenging to use and require careful handling. The instruction manual is also lengthy and takes time to get a grip on these tools.
Our Final Thoughts
With its rival competitor in the market, Quickstop needs to work on more innovations and amendments to make its tools more durable and flexible to be used by everyone. The hardship and motivation of its owner Matt will undoubtedly make this product see promising growth in the future.
